Nice chronologically – logical that you are there.
Experience with us, with us, a Weiberfastnacht, a carnival that has washed itself. With all the love for tradition: You will feel like you are in a fully automatic washing machine during 2,000 spin cycles.
Presentation of the Beuel Princesses The Day of the Princesses Double celebrated is better: The performance of the Washer Princess and the LiKüRa Princess always takes place on the first Friday after the start of the session. In the Beuel town hall, the two will be presented to the carnival participants and at the same time their predecessors will be bid farewell with a big thank you. The washer princess receives, among other things, her sash “Noch net – ävve dann”, which she is allowed to wear with a princess dress during her performances until the proclamation.
From the day of the proclamation, it’s finally time to get rid of the sash and put on a princess dress. Finally, she is allowed to present herself in regalia at the many events – a huge experience that every princess is eagerly awaiting. By the way, the stage program is exclusively designed by the Beuel women’s committees, any waiver of purchased performances gives the event its special charm. A lot of dirty laundry is washed here! Great fun for everyone is the washing competition, which has been taking place since 1999. In a battle of the sexes, the Häärekomitee competes against the Wiever of all Beuel women’s committees in hand-to-hand combat at the Waschbütt. It’s usually about great or old lingerie. A jury of prominent Beuel residents judges the cleanliness, the smell and the number of parts washed in three minutes. And the Häärekomitee also provides plenty of carnival interludes in a class of its own in the Pützchen parish centre between the washes.
Invited, celebrated, brilliant! What took place at the home of the respective washer princess in the early years is now a cult experience that is celebrated on a large scale: Several hundred invited guests accept the invitation of the princess, congratulate her and honour her with gifts. Of course, the Bonn honors, the sponsors of the Weiberfastnacht and all representatives of the carnival associations including the volunteers will be there.
Those who sponsor should also have fun! The laundress princess is looking forward to personally welcoming all those who have dedicated themselves to the active financial support of the Beuel Women’s Carnival on this day. For the sponsors, the happening is of course a very special thing, after all, the meeting crowns the financial commitment and makes the madness accessible to everyone. You want to be part of it? We are always happy to welcome new supporters.
The emotional highlight for everyone! The moment that the whole of Beuel and the region has been looking forward to has arrived: On Weiberfastnacht at around 9 a.m., about 60 to 70 floats, foot groups and music bands line up on Siegburger Straße, and then transform the streets of Beuel into a dancing street festival with a lot of joy and camels. Who would have thought it: The parade is not organized by the carnival association, but by the federal city of Bonn, Beuel district administration office. No power to men! Whatever the hairs of creation do, neither the district mayor nor the mayor stand a chance against the storming Wiever from Beuel. After the arrival of the Weiberfastnacht procession, the cunning Wiever make their way and, with a few clever tricks and tricks, reach the coveted town hall balcony every year – to document the success of their storming there for everyone to see.
The grand finale! With the traditional plucking of the bonnet in the Hofburg on Carnival Tuesday, the session ends where it began. The ritual, which is based on the feather plucking of the carnival princes, was introduced by Obermöhn Evi Zwiebler in 1999. Late in the evening, shortly before Ash Wednesday, the washer princess is stripped of her cap by Obermöhn and the sceptre is taken away. This means that the session is finally over for the princess.
