2019 Tradition and customs come together

The big secret that young girls are allowed to represent the Beuel Women’s Carnival as a washer princess on the occasion of Beethoven’s 250th birthday was already revealed at the Rhenish Evening at the Historic Fair in Pützchen. Romina Markmann will be the Washer Princess in the 2019/2020 session and so we are pleased to introduce her and her washerwomen Sabrina (Michel) and Lena (Obliers). Romina is 22 years young and a native of Bonn, as befits a real Rhineland girl. After successfully completing her vocational baccalaureate in business and administration in 2016, Romina began her professional career in her parents’ business. In Beuel, customs and tradition have always been very important and so of course the family business “Markmann and Sons” with Romina is each represented at the traditional fair “Pützchens Markt”. This year we can especially look forward to Romina’s participation in the Historical Parade as the future washer princess on Friday, 6.9.2019 from 1.30 p.m. on the market grounds. Romina will also follow the subsequent barrel table and the opening of the fair in the Bavarian marquee live, accompanied by her two washerwomen. So come by and celebrate with us from 3 p.m. in the Bavaria tent.
